This was a performance by the group in which my son plays lead guitar and for which he writes songs (although I'm told this is a Franz Ferdinand number). They were the headline act at their school's band night a couple of months back. He's the kid with the black Telecaster.
How come he has decided to spurn the mighty Fulminators when that way fame, fortune and legions of willing nubiles must lie? And will you ever get the Tele back. Let's hope he doesn't do a Townsend on it.
The Tele got back okay, without any form of damage - he doesn't want to die young. As for windmilling, there's little chance of that - he's relaxed about getting up on stage, but he enjoys songwriting and production more than performing. As for The Fulminators, well, while he's a Johnny Cash appreciator, I'm not sure our other musical differences could be easily overcome. I shall watch his musical career with interest.
I rightly think that ol' ex-KCS mighta been referrin to the Who fella's habit of smashin his axes big time on the stage, on those rare occasions when he found time between writin pretentious rock operas and totally acccidentally accessing credit-card only underage porn websites, for the purposes of research obviously. We don' go in fer windmillin in the Flying Bastardos, no sir, an not fer any o' that weird other stuff I dun mentioned jes now neither.
Thank you, Cecil - I'd forgotten about the noted Kiddie Porn researcher's penchant for violently abusing his own instrument after hours of vigorously "strumming" it. I wonder if he still has the energy.
Excellent.
ReplyDeleteThat has got to be fun for you.
