Mind you, I can't understand why we get so soppy about dogs. After all, what do they ever do for us?...

So I think humans are allowed to make a fuss of them sometimes. With the exception of some yappy little terriers, most "toy" dogs, and dogs owned by inadequate, knuckle-dragging droolers with manliness issues or well-meaning people who are simply too wet and indulgent to train them properly, I'm with Ron Burgundy:
