The Spectator's shaven-headed resident nincompoop has used his High Anxiety column this week ["French cowardice knows no bounds"] to be spiteful about Frenchmen and their lack of bravery. You expect nonsense and naive prejudices from Toby "I am a bit of a Card" Young, but this is offensive.
I suggest Fraser Nelson has a word with him and tells him that there is no need to file copy when he is on holiday and then we can all have a proper break.
I have no idea why you so dislike Toby Young. I admire the fact that, despite having been sent to a particularly manky comprehensive school by his father (a Labour peer who chose ideological purity over what was best for his son) and despite having worked for several years with Julie Burchill (!!!!) he has turned out to be a true blue Tory and a prime mover behind the excellent Free School movement. If this decent, sensible man wants to slag off the French, I, for one, would not seek to stand in his way, no matter how strongly I might disagree with him.

Make that "Status Anxiety". High anxiety is the emotion I feel when I think about Young.
