It's as if they view them as children who are simply unable to control their impulses, or who are unable to grasp that when you're staying in sombody else's house, the owner's rules apply - and that if you don't like those rules, bugger off back to your own home.Scott Gronmarkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15118026157459333174noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2215553202978284468.post-38438891601014498672015-06-14T17:29:50.069+01:002015-06-14T17:29:50.069+01:00The fact that Tim Hunt is noted for work which has...The fact that Tim Hunt is noted for work which has helped the fight against cancer is neither here nor there of course. I'm sure the journaiism lecturer who disseminated his unbelievably wicked comments is of far greater worth to humanity.

Mind you, from various tweets and articles I've read by lefties, it seems that even some of them are beginning to wonder whether the shrill, ruthless, hysterical, cruel, fascistic hounding of anyone who doesn't share their rather weird views on absolutely everything may have gone a little far. First, as you pointed out, it looks as if she is overturning 800 years of equality before the law, which I suppose is one way of celebrating Magna Carta. Second, is it just me or is there more than a smack of 'you can't expect too much of these people' in her remarks about 'communities'? I think I might find that rather insulting if I were a newly arrived community.

As for violence against children 'exciting the interest of child protection professionals'...where is the evidence your Honour? Furthermore they will have little sense of humour and will be very quick to take offence, particularly on behalf of other groups.
It seems we have to display our tolerance, our anti racism or anti sexism and our right on inclusiveness and, most importantly, our willingness to accept that every culture is (at the very least) the equal of our own. I always think it's inverted form of bigotry.
As for poor Tim Hunt, for Gawd's sake what did he say that could excite such widespread howls of disapproval? He's a bloke of a certain vintage and he was trying to make a point in a light hearted way.
By the way, best of luck with the cake...Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00839005575027842615noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2215553202978284468.post-34940630596702102742015-06-11T17:54:03.865+01:002015-06-11T17:54:03.865+01:00I suppose him being 72 had something to do with it...I suppose him being 72 had something to do with it - I can't blame him for not wanting to spend his eighth decade being hectored by po-faced harridans. The thing that disappointed me was that he apologised - it would have been better if he'd told his shrill misandrist persecutors to develop a sense of humour. Why has he resigned? Was he forced to resign by the authorities at UCL (not beyond imagination)? Or did he reckon that the abuse he was taking - and would be taking - was not worth the candle of telling his abusers to get a life? Whatever, Sir Tim won't upset the fascists of feminism again. Nor - and this is the serious result of this incident - will a large number of others. I know it's easy for me to say, but had Sir Tim exhibited a smidgeon of backbone both he and the legions of men and women with a trace of a sense of humour would have won a small victory against militant feminism. As it is, he's handed them a very inexpensive triumph in their war against men and freedom of speech.Umbongonoreply@blogger.com
